Jesus knew His why. He came to preach the gospel. Yes, He did amazing miracles that blessed many lives, from healing illnesses to casting out demons, but that was not His why. When His why was compromised, He moved on to the next town so that He could stay on purpose. What is your why? Stay focused on it. Don’t allow anything, even good things, to distract you. Whenever I speak at youth conferences, I intentionally join small group sessions with different groups to see if I can contribute or just be present. I’ll forever treasure this moment! As I shared my prayer request with this small group of 6th graders from The Bridge Christian Church in Virginia, they just clobbered me with hugs 🥰. Tomorrow I get to speak to hundreds of middle schoolers about following God. We’re talking about Elijah and I love this prayer from him so much. He prays for God to answer him so that these people will know that 1) You are God and 2) You are turning their hearts back again. When we are wavering in our faith, I believe these are God’s top two priorities. God is looking for faith in Him and though he sends us out into the mission field, know that it is He who is turning hearts back again. I can’t wait! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

God does a miraculous thing when we live open handed, giving to others freely. In times where I’ve felt like I’m in want myself (by first-world, American standards), I still challenge myself to give freely, trusting that my God knows all of my needs and will meet them. There are things that are non-negotiable for me when it comes to financial resources and they are giving my tithes and offerings to build God’s Kingdom and supporting the children I sponsor through @compassion. Robbing God is not cool and if these children were my own, not feeding them or educating them is not an option either. God has never let me down and He won’t start now. So give!

I remember a season when I thought I just wasn’t good enough to ever be in the ministry, much less be ordained and installed as a pastor. But there I was on stage today, being anointed with fellow servants of the Most High God into the office of pastor. God has been so faithful to me as I have courageously chased the calling of Jesus Christ on my life, and I look forward to obediently serving all that He asks me to do. And I’m super grateful for the leadership at @thebridgedc and the way they have supported me and entrusted me with the gospel.

What an incredible time I had this weekend ministering to this awesome group of women with my besties @homeschoolinheels and @dtucker0513 at the 2nd annual Called and Worthy Retreat! The theme was “Set Free” and so many women began their own journeys toward allowing Jesus to set them free from the things that they have been carrying. I believe every woman needs to have this kind of intimate retreat experience where you have the opportunity to know and be known by God and other women. And I love that I get to retreat with them! Also, there may have been tears as I watched my friends use their spiritual gifts to minister to these women and to see so much transparency, love, faith and fun pour out from the beginning to end of the retreat. We look forward to seeing the healing that God will bring to these women and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to share this experience with women in the future. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
